IGNITE YOUR FIRE GLAMPING RETREAT ~ May 19-22, 2022

Welcome mamas! We are so excited to retreat with you!

As you know, the theme of this retreat is “Ignite Your Fire” so we’ll be spending time releasing what no longer serves and accessing your creative passion. Throughout the weekend, we’ll engage in a series of activities, rituals and practices to help facilitate this. Come with an open heart and ready to invite transformation.

Below you will find information on carpooling, arrival details, tent assignments, daily schedule, packing list, our mama altar, local COVID regulations and emergency info.

Thursday Arrival | May 19, 2022

Location
Sombrilla Springs Events & Escapes
12130 Co Rd 326, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

Sombrilla Springs Events & Escapes is located in southwest Colorado, just south of Pagosa Springs. See directions here. Cell service in the tents and barn is spotty, but the community barn has wifi. You may also use the phone in the owner’s house, located onsite.

Getting There

It takes approximately 5.5 hours to get there from Denver. The drive from Denver is a gorgeous one, taking you over Kenosha Pass, through Buena Vista (home to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs), past the peaks of the  Sangre de Cristo range,  and finally through the incredible San Juan Mountains.

Carpooling

If you would like to carpool and are not matched with anyone yet, please email support@mothersmovingmountains.com and we’ll do our best to find you a companion. We have at least one mama who would like to ride with someone so please reach out if you’re willing and able!

The “Spark of the Feminine” Workshop

We are excited to announce this is the first retreat we have an expert guest, Carisa Banuelos, joining us to lead a “Spark of the Feminine” workshop on Saturday afternoon during the retreat. This session will help us connect to and activate our creative, sensual, feminine power.

Carisa Banuelos has over 20,000 combined hours of research and training in the following areas: Katonah and Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation, Shamanism, Reiki, Buddhist Psychology, Yoga Psychology, and Tantra. She has worked with internationally known teachers including Ashley Turner, Psalm Isadora, and Layla Martin in order to bring ancient methods of healing to the modern world.

Carisa believes in the path to liberation from conditioning, by using life as a portal to higher consciousness. She works with people by meeting them exactly where they are, working from a foundation of love, completeness, and wholeness, not from a place of brokenness in which an individual needs “fixing”. She pursues long-term health and aging with grace for herself and her clients. “Going inward isn’t easy, but it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve done in my entire life.”

From slow intentional movement to sensory practices to deep meditative accessing of your primal power, this workshop (or rather, playshop) will be a one of a kind with Carisa’s guidance.

We will finish our closing circle by 12:30pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Packing List

Please bring anything and everything that makes you feel beautiful, nourished and rested!

Sombrilla Springs is located around 7500 feet elevation where the weather can be unpredictable. Days can be warm, while evenings can be cold (like beanie and down jacket cold). And May is always unpredictable as we know. Please bring LOTS OF LAYERS plan accordingly. Here are some starter ideas:

  • Hiking shoes/boots
  • Sun hat and beanie
  • Light jacket and down jacket
  • Yoga pants/tanks/tees
  • Swimsuit, towel, sandals – in case we find a swimming hole or river
  • Robe and slippers for lounging if you wish
  • Pajamas and day clothes
  • Any clothing or accessories that make you feel beautiful and amazing
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Yoga mat – Please don’t forget this!
  • Journal and pen
  • A bottle of wine or other beverage to share if you wish
  • Cash for staff tips and anything else you may want to buy
  • Altar items (see below)

Mama Altar

We will have a central altar for the retreat so we ask each of you to bring 2 special things:

  1. A token/item that represents this time in your life or a certain transformation you’re undergoing to put on the altar (this can be a piece of jewelry, artifact, art, photo, etc.). You will take this back home with you
  2. An organic item that you’d like to add to the offering we make at the end of the retreat (this can be a leaf, flower, wood, thread, ashes, etc.) This offering is customary after we’ve done some soulful healing work throughout the weekend and we will offer it either to the earth or to the fire.

COVID Regulations

Pagosa Springs COVID-19 restrictions and business policies can be reviewed here. As stated in the terms and conditions, MMM respects every woman’s autonomy to select the most appropriate immunization approach for her body and her health. Vaccinations are not mandatory and mask wearing will be optional at the Retreat. All mamas should feel empowered to listen to their own bodies and protect themselves as needed should they feel at risk during the Retreat. To honor the times we are in, you will be asked to sign a COVID-19 waiver upon arrival to ensure you have 1) not tested positive, 2) have not been exposed in the preceding two weeks, OR 3) have been vaccinated.

Tiffany and her staff prefer that discussions about COVID, opinions about vaccinations, and questioning who is vaccinated are NOT a part of the retreat. This is a sacred space and a time where we can unplug from the mental fatigue that this collective energy has created. We respect that everyone has made a decision to attend having read the waiver and having understood that it is each mother’s prerogative to make the decision that feels best for her and her family. Take a deep breath and trust in your decisions and your power. This retreat is an opportunity to return to your essence, beyond the noise, and tap into the wisdom of your own bodies and hearts.

Emergencies

The nearest hospital is Pagosa Springs Medical Center if you’d like to investigate further.

More about the land – from Sombrilla Springs

One of the most unique and stunning Colorado glamping experiences available. We’re a working cattle ranch, first established in 1894. In June 2018, we tackled restoring the ranch’s 1932 barn into an event venue, an idea that has transformed into a one-of-a-kind glamping experience, featuring… furnished walk-in tents with luxury bedding and towels in an aspen grove … tentyard bathroom with open-air hot-water shower and loo … awe-inspiring views of the continental divide and surrounding San Juan Mountains … easy access to beautiful hikes (we’re bordered by the San Juan National Forest and Wilderness areas, so you can walk to one trail from your tent, others are nearby) … the run of a 450-acre working cattle ranch blanketed by beautiful trees, including aspen and Ponderosa Pines (you gotta smell one!) where wild elk frequently come through and a myriad of wildlife make their home … access to a restored 1930s barn packed with amenities, including full kitchen, loos, shower, indoor and outdoor dining areas and games, flatscreen tv, satellite cable, projector screen w/ projector and wifi. We welcome couples, families, big and small groups, weddings and more.
